DEKRA facilities accredited by A2LA

Extension of services for connected and automated vehicles

International expert organization DEKRA has been accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for ITS-G5 conformance testing of European standards and the ETSI EN 302 571 harmonized standard for radio communications equipment operating in the 5855 to 5925 MHz frequency band.

The accreditation by A2LA allows both DEKRA’s facilities in Malaga, Spain, the test laboratory as well as its connected car test area, to offer an extended and well-recognized scope for manufacturers of communications equipment used in automated and connected vehicles.

With the extension of the scope of accreditation, DEKRA is the first testing and certification player in Europe that offers testing according to US (OmniAir) and European (ITS-G5) standards together, helping manufacturers get their products ready for use in markets around the globe.

Among ITS-G5 are conformance standards in the specifications for the transmission of IP packets over GeoNetworking (ETSI TS 102 859), Decentralized Environmental Notification Messages (ETSI TS 102 869) and TS 102 867 and TS 102 941 security testing (ETSI TS 103 191). Visit www.etsi.org for a complete overview.

DEKRA offers a complete scope of conformance testing, test area testing, field testing, certification services and market-based cybersecurity assessments to meet your testing and certification needs for the automated and connected car, now and in the future. DEKRA helps manufacturers with testing and certification for, among others, electrical safety, wireless, interoperability, electromagnetic compatibility, cyber security and functional safety.
