  • Customers can have their devices evaluated and certified via Deutsche Telekom’s IoT and German Enterprise organizations.
DEKRA has been selected by Deutsche Telekom IoT GmbH as a preferred service provider partner to provide IoT testing services for DT’s customers. With this partnership, DEKRA and DT aim to support manufacturers and service providers in preparing their products for the Internet of Things ecosystem, minimizing time, costs and efforts to access the market. From now on, DEKRA Testing and Certification S.A.U — DEKRA branch located in Málaga (Spain) — offers comprehensive services for cybersecurity, connectivity, environmental and hardware validation, antenna testing and certification, industry certification schemes and regulatory services, which are available in DT’s “IoT Hardware Ecosystem” online catalog.
"We are glad to become a partner of Deutsche Telekom, a company that shares with DEKRA the commitment to contribute to consolidating a safer and more secure IoT ecosystem. This is a good opportunity to work together on it and to widen our customer's options to request testing & certification services for their products”, said Alejandro Torrecilla, Managing Director of DEKRA Testing and Certification, S.A.U.
"A partner like DEKRA offers our customers quality and reliability in product development. With this testing and certification portfolio, we complement our own connectivity, cloud and hardware offerings. We want to accompany our customers optimally during the market launch, always in the sense of a high-quality and safer Internet of Things," says Ralf Schikiera, Head of IoT Sales.
The Cybersecurity services DEKRA offers through DT include Penetration Testing, and evaluation services for certification programs, such as ioXt Alliance, Alexa Voice Services, CTIA, GSMA, or testing against the standard ETSI EN 303 645, among others. Additionally, DEKRA also provides GAP Analysis and pre-testing services prior to evaluation or certification.
For Connectivity, DEKRA brings services to evaluate the device’s end-to-end behavior and performance in IoT use cases, considering not only the device, but also components like batteries, as well as other elements of the IoT ecosystem.
Regulatory services are also in the scope of DEKRA's services available at DT. With these services, manufacturers can verify if their products comply with the regulatory requirements established by the European Union, the United States and other countries and regions where Deutsche Telekom has roaming agreements in place for global connectivity.
In addition, DEKRA offers services of environmental & hardware validation, to evaluate its reliability in ordinary and extreme conditions, considering DT’s technical specifications and other recognized international standards requirements. This includes antennas, for which DEKRA provides services of characterization and testing of device antennas, to evaluate their compliance to requirements defined by Deutsche Telekom and those from industry certification schemes such as GCF, PTCRB and LoRa.
