Our state-of-the-art Battery Test Center is equipped to perform for Electrical Stress Tests, Mechanical Abuse Tests, , Thermal Abuse and Tests Drop Tests at component and system levels, Thermal Propagation Tests on module, battery and even full including entire vehicles in our dedicated fire hall, all conducted safely and independently.

We offer battery performance testing and electrical testing services. In our performance testing for batteries, we evaluate capacity, efficiency, and power delivery under real-world and simulated conditions. We test batteries, cells, modules, and packs for charge & discharge behavior, cycle life, temperature effects, and internal resistance to ensure reliable energy, consistent performance, and compliance with international standards.
Our electrical battery testing services evaluate the performance and reliability of batteries under a wide range of conditions, including:

Advanced Battery Testing with AI Simulation

In partnership with Sphere, we offer a unique service to support battery cell validation using AI-based simulation. With the help of AI models trained using real battery data, we predict accurate battery behaviour across multiple conditions, including ageing, temperature, and performance shifts. Our services redefine the way battery cells are validated: Faster, Smarter, Trusted.
Battery cells are assessed under real-world conditions, beginning with benchmarking and characterization of electrical, thermal, and ageing performance. These results guide module and pack testing, including electrical, thermal, abuse, and durability assessments. By combining physical tests with AI-based simulations, we ensure batteries meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements efficiently and reliably.
Our Smart Data Management services allows to capture, standardize, and analyze the large volumes of data generated during battery testing. Designed by Sphere, the platform enables trend tracking, traceability, and actionable insights across testing cycles and battery generations. Our Battery Test Center is a unique facility that provides a comprehensive range of battery testing services, covering abuse, propagation, performance, environmental and mechanical testing. Unique for the Battery Test Center is that it has the full range of battery testing services under one roof, strategically located at the DEKRA Automotive Test Center with the DEKRA Lausitzring Proving Ground.
At this Battery Test Center, our experts conduct testing on EV batteries, full vehicles, battery packs, modules, and energy storage systems, under real-world scenarios and extreme conditions. From mechanical, abuse, and safety testing to performance and environmental testing in challenging environments — all in one place.
Located in Arnhem, our comprehensive testing and certification facility serves as a one-stop center for cells, portable batteries, industrial applications, and e-mobility solutions.
In our Guangzhou and Shanghai-Jiading laboratories in China, we provide comprehensive testing and certification services for primary and secondary batteries, ensuring compliance with global standards.
DEKRA’s partner Sphere counts with the Sphere Battery Technology Centre in Augsburg, Germany, where all cell formats are tested. It features 1500 channels for testing commercial cells and prototypes in various form factors and formats, along with 80 temperature chambers for simultaneous performance testing at different temperatures. The centre accommodates testing over a broad temperature range from -40 to +80 °C and is equipped with test jigs and equipment to control pressure during cycling and to monitor swelling ('breathing') of a cell (pouch/prismatic).
