DEKRA will host the OmniAir Global Plugfest at its connected driving facilities located in Málaga (Spain) for the second consecutive year. This edition will feature cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) devices and combine on-site and virtual testing across different laboratories around the world. DEKRA operates the first OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory in Europe, which will be the starting point of the event, providing its comprehensive C-V2X testing equipment and specialists to perform testing on the registered devices at the Plugfest.
The OmniAir Global Plugfest, organized by OmniAir Consortium®, is the premier testing event for connected vehicle technologies that bring together vehicle-to-everything (V2X) industry leaders from all over the world. It will start on September, 28th and will continue until October, 15th. This year is the first time OmniAir will celebrate a global edition, testing in different locations of North America, Europe and Asia. Manufacturers who can't go in person to the event, have also the possibility to send their devices to the OmniAir Global Plugfest laboratories and attend testing remotely.
The event will be inaugurated in Austin (United States) and then will continue at DEKRA’s dedicated test area for connected driving in Málaga, from September 28th to October 2nd. This facility includes an outdoor test track and a shielded lab environment fully equipped to test the leading wireless technologies focused on V2X communications: DSRC, based on IEEE 802.11, and C-V2X, based on 3GPP 4G/5G specifications. During the OmniAir Global Plugfest, DEKRA will also use and the most comprehensive variety of test systems from Anritsu, Danlaw, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, S.E.A. and Spirent.
Registered devices can be assessed for conformance, interoperability and security testing in both lab and field environments during the event:
o Radio testing for C-V2X PC5 and DSRC.
o Conformance testing against OmniAir specifications for DSRC.
o Conformance testing against existing OmniAir specifications for C-V2X.
o BSM Performance & Location Accuracy Testing for DSRC.
o BSM Drive Comparison Testing for DSRC and possibly C-V2X.
o SCMS Security Certificate Testing (including new OmniAir security test cases).
o Reference Device Testing Availability for Certified DSRC Device with Stakeholder (limit two).
In addition to devices testing, OmniAir Global Plugfest will also hold a virtual connected vehicle workshop and different technical learning sessions with the participation of leading V2X specialists from industry and government. Attendees will have the opportunity to join remotely in chats, panels, unique presentations and keynotes. DEKRA experts will be speakers in some of these live sessions to discuss the latest advances in connected vehicle and cybersecurity research, testing and deployment.
