Transition to the Global ACI Accreditation Mark – What Customers Need to Know

Apr 17, 2026Audit / Digital & Product Solutions
In April 2026, a new global organization called Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) was introduced. Global ACI brings together the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) under one common global identity. These organizations are responsible for ensuring that certification and testing results are trusted worldwide.

Because of this change, the well-known IAF MLA Mark (used for management system certification) and the ILAC MRA Mark (used for testing, inspection, and calibration services) will be replaced over time by a new Global ACI Mark. The marks you see on certificates and test reports show that the results are internationally recognized and accepted by regulators, customers, and markets around the world.

There is a transition period during which both the existing IAF and ILAC marks and the new Global ACI mark may be used. This allows certification and testing bodies enough time to update their certificates, reports, websites, and marketing materials. Clear rules apply during this period to ensure the marks are used correctly and consistently.

Accredited organizations like DEKRA are required to review all documents that include accreditation marks. This includes management system certificates, product test reports, inspection reports, and online or printed materials. Customers may start to see updated logos on new documents, while older documents may still show the existing marks.

Once the transition period ends, only the new Global ACI accreditation mark will be allowed. This change does not affect the validity of your certification or test results. It is a branding and recognition update, not a change in technical requirements or audit and testing quality.

The goal of the new Global ACI mark is to create a clear, consistent, and globally recognized accreditation system. It helps reduce confusion, strengthens international trust, and ensures that certificates and test reports continue to be accepted worldwide.

If you have questions about accreditation marks on your certificates or reports we are happy to support you.
